My brain is slightly sore from all the studying to make sure I met my deadline. Which I did, and now I am done, and that feels somewhat surreal after a year of studying.
This month, I went to London for my favourite two-day conference, AI for the Rest of Us, which also added to the feeling of a sore brain. I spent two jam-packed days at the Museum of London, taking notes like a banshee, talking to all kinds of interesting people, and doing all sorts of interesting stuff. I got a lot out of this conference, and I’m excited to start ticking off items on my list to make my ideas a reality.
Otherwise, this month was lovely; I got to spend time with new and old friends. Do interesting work and spend time developing myself to become the best version of me. I’m very grateful for how I have designed my life, and this month has been just absolutely fabulous.
One of my posts about AI slop exploded on LinkedIn while I was in London. It’s a post going deeper into the Deloitte scandal in Australia. While I was away, I saw the stats for that, with over 12 000 views and counting. It’s surreal, but still it’s part of my job. Speaking of social media, I have conducted a few experiments and will compile my findings, probably on LinkedIn.
Books Read: 6
The noteworthy book of this month is “A Lady in Kyoto” by Sei Shonagon. A very poetic book that reflects on the life of a gentlewoman and life in the Japanese royal court.
Courses:
I finished the last course, AI applications in people management, in the AI for Business specialisation from Wharton. This concludes one year of studying university courses in AI and Brand Strategy. This is an experiment I embarked on a year ago to investigate how I could develop myself while also deepening my understanding of the AI field. I have loved this year, even though it’s been challenging at times to balance this with work, my travel schedule and everything else that has gone on in my life this year. I’m proud, happy and inspired by this. It’s not just about the knowledge and experience, it’s about the person I become when I set goals and work towards them. Highly recommend it.
Wellness
The results I get from the longer compression sessions (50 min + infrared light) are less bloating, and I notice my body looks and feels firmer. Compression and infrared light are here to stay in my routine.
I’m currently doing a few things to level up my sleep, as it’s a foundational building block for recovery, health, and cognitive performance. I got myself a pair of blue blockers. I have these when I read in the evenings. It has helped me so far by making me sleepier more quickly, and my sleep is deeper.
Something I’ve kept quiet about for some time, but am ready to share more on going forward, is that I’m doing food training with meat. This is to ensure my body is receiving the proper nutrients. It’s been a year of trying to find my way back to eating meat after 30 years of not eating meat. This is a challenge with small steps forward. I can now eat small amounts of Parma ham, and when I was in the UK, I found some biltong that I could eat and enjoy the taste of. My goal is to be able to eat grass-fed, grass-finished beef, but that may be another year or so away.
Supplements:
Nothing new in my stack this month. Continuing with Gluthathion and Urolithin-A, on top of all my other supplements. Have started adding Spirulina after taking a break, not 100% sure about the source, though. Feel it needs a more thorough investigation.
Podcast
This podcast with Alberto Villoldo was fascinating. He shared his journey to heal his brain.
