April reflections

In April, I took a deep dive into a decisive mindset shift: it is not about how you do things, but what you choose to do.

It’s about focusing on the right tasks and placing yourself in the right context.
Designing your life requires strength, and sometimes making difficult but healthy choices.

I choose to be respected rather than needed.
Present, rather than constantly available.

We are living in a time when human creativity, our ability to think critically, adapt, learn, and unlearn, is more essential than ever.

And the more I learn, the more I realise how much there is still to understand.

There is a sense of urgency I cannot quite shake. Especially as it pertains to AI.

Books Read: 3
This month, I explored biology and quantum physics, including a particularly dense and fascinating book on the subject that took me a while to get through. But I did!

Courses:
I completed my course in brand identity and strategy. I am proud to have earned the certificate and have gathered plenty of notes to inspire ideas for both current assignments and upcoming projects.

Wellness

This month included:
Pressotherapy, Barry’s Bootcamp, Hot Yoga and Inferno Pilates.

I also took time off for an Easter break to rest, recharge, and celebrate my birthday at a spa by a lake outside Gothenburg. I chose to have a sober birthday this year to honour what I am experiencing and the transition I am currently in.

Supplements:
• Urolithin-A – halfway through the recommended three-month period, I haven’t noticed anything yet.
• Creatine – adjusting the intake for best results and additional cognitive benefits.

The next level

I travelled to London to attend the AI for the Rest of Us meetup on May 1st. It proved to be a valuable investment, not only for discovering new topics to add to my study plan, but also for the opportunity to meet new people and participate in honest and vital conversations about the potential societal effects of AI agents. The conversations continue from that meetup, which I am happy about.

Creative Recharge

I am doing a lot of design work at the moment and feel the need to replenish my creative energy. That meant finding time to visit exhibitions and seek inspiration, just as my art school teachers taught me. I observe everything, from book covers to installations, to reflect, think clearly, and access new ideas.

This is what helps me find the perspective to take something that I work on to the next level.

Meditation, still going strong

In January, I was inspired by Tim Ferriss, who mentioned that he was meditating twice daily. I turned my inspiration into action and decided to meditate every day, at least for 10 minutes every weekday.

As I’ve previously mentioned, my breathwork sessions have added to the meditation, and I’ve managed to keep my streak of meditating first thing in the morning for ten minutes. Additionally, I’ve discovered breathwork protocols that help me access a meditative state more quickly, which in turn has helped me stay on track with my meditation practice.

Time for creativity

What I’m most longing for right now is time for creativity, with no purpose or goal in mind. To continue with my painting and sketching. I’m the person in charge of my schedule, and I feel like I’ve been repeating myself over the past few months (one of the benefits of journaling is that it provides insights into your patterns). I can clearly see that time is a challenge. The key to that is my calendar. The person in charge of my calendar, well, that is me.
